Dr. Miyoka Jones is the Assistant Principal at John Trotwood Moore Middle School, managing and articulating visions for student discipline, attendance, instruction, professional and organizational development. Dr. Jones is well versed in curriculum alignment, training needs analysis, implementing blended training solutions and course design for traditional, blended, and online groups. For the past 15 years, Dr. Jones has held other roles that include the following: 5th – 8th Grade Educator, Professional Development Specialist (Contract) and Adjunct Instructor. She also worked in the agricultural and healthcare industry prior to becoming an educator. Dr. Jones has extensive experience facilitating improved and heightened performance within an organization by creating, developing, and implementing core training and development programs.
Dr. Jones excels in various senior-level leadership capacities by continually improving processes, staff development, and upgrading internal systems to achieve dynamic results. She is well known for rising above the WOW in service philosophies and takes great pride in impacting everyday lives. She has an intrinsic passion for cultivating exciting collaborative educational environments that successfully encourages development, productive, thoughtful, and accomplished students.
Dr. Jones grew up in West Tennessee and received her Teaching Credentials from Tennessee State University along with her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences. She completed her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Tennessee Technological University. Dr. Jones earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University and received her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.
